APPLICATION

BODY:

Morning and evening, wet the psoriasis plaques and apply SORATINEX Skin Care Gel. Leave for 2–3 minutes (or up to a max of 10 mins for very thick plaques - see note below) then very gently scrub the areas with a sponge to remove the plaques. Rinse off with lukewarm water and dry carefully. After this apply the Skin Care Cream and Skin Care Oil to the affected parts. Use your regular soap or shower gel for the rest of your body.

SCALP:

In the evening, wet your scalp and apply a small amount of SORATINEX Skin Care Gel instead of your regular hair shampoo. Massage thoroughly and leave for 3–10 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water. Dry your hair then apply SORATINEX Skin Care Cream and Skin Care Oil to the affected areas. Leave overnight.

In the morning, use SORATINEX Skin Care Gel in exactly the same way. You should apply the Skin Care Cream and Skin Care Oil after this (you may not wish to use the Skin Care Cream and Oil in the morning to avoid having oily hair during the day, but we recommend using all three products).

Note: The correct use of the gel is important. The gel’s role is to soften the psoriasis plaques and make their removal easier and more effective. The gel contains salicylic acid, glycolic acid and citric acid which help to gently break down plaques. Therefore, the thicker the psoriasis plaques are, the longer the gel should be left on (up to a max of 10 mins). If the plaques are thin, one to three minutes' exposure to the gel is usually enough.

It is recommended that you apply on a small area first, to see which works best for you, as the gel can cause irritation if left on inflamed skin once the plaques have been broken down.

NOTE:

Be careful when using the product on your face as it can cause eye irritation. For up to three hours after the application of products, ensure that your skin is not exposed to direct sunlight. The use of phototherapy or excessive sun exposure during SORATINEX treatment is strongly not recommended. Fruit acids act as a peeling agent and gently contribute to peeling hard skin away from the affected areas. The skin layer may get thinner in these areas. Phototherapy is therefore not appropriate whilst using SORATINEX products.
